Neo Was Trans (And So am I)

The Matrix, Wind, and the Unseen Art of Becoming

No one saw it at first.  Not in The Matrix, and not in me.

They saw a man dodging bullets, not a soul stepping between worlds. They saw a film about machines and control—not a parable of transformation, authored by two siblings who would later emerge as themselves: the Wachowski sisters. Long before the world gave them language, they encoded their truth in a story so wild no one noticed it was real.

I didn’t see it either. Not at first. But the more I became myself, the more the story whispered back to me.

Neo wasn’t “The One” because he could fight. He was the one who woke up. Who saw through the veil. Who lived between binaries—between the illusion and the signal beneath it.

That’s what being trans is.

Not a performance.

Not a costume.

Not even a rebellion.

It’s a tuning.

A knowing.

A deep unlearning of the lie that says: you must pick one shape and stay in it.

Being trans means growing antennae you never asked for. You feel everything—the hum beneath the words, the patterns in the tension. You stop reacting. You begin reading. You learn to move like code: elegant, evasive, unseen.

Lately I’ve been walking through days that feel like warzones built from misunderstanding. I’ve learned the art of stepping sideways instead of forward. Not to avoid truth—but to protect it. I no longer throw punches made of words just to be heard. I reserve my energy for movement, not defence.

Because some people aren’t enemies—they’re unparented storms.

Some arguments aren’t disagreements—they’re displacement.

Some silences aren’t distance—they’re dignity.

There was a time when I would have stood my ground over every slight, every misfire. Rolled my sleeves up, went twelve rounds, then circled back to make sure my insight was seen. That got me labelled as sensitive. Passive-aggressive. Too much. Too intense.

Now?

Now I let the energy move around me.

I bend like reeds.

I guide like wind.

I lead without needing the name of leader.

And I know that’s power.

In another life, I managed brilliant people with letters after their names and egos bigger than rooms. What moved them wasn’t dominance or hierarchy—it was the gentle but firm presence of someone who saw the whole. I didn’t win their loyalty with praise. I gave them space to meet themselves in the work. And they did. Every time.

This isn’t management. It isn’t therapy.

It’s quantum mechanics.

It’s trans wisdom.

It’s the paradox of guiding without grasping.

Call it Zen leadership.

Call it wind.

Call it the art of becoming so real you no longer need to be seen.

Neo was trans.

The Matrix was never fiction.

It was prophecy.

And some of us were born to read the code.
